Esoteric Acupuncture and how it may assist you

Esoteric acupuncture is a holistic approach to acupuncture which combines knowledge from Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Ayurvedic understanding of the chakras, Sacred Geometry, and spiritual and esoteric concepts. Esoteric Acupuncture was founded by Dr. Mikio Sankey (Ph.D., L.Ac) and is an emerging branch of the ancient Chinese Acupuncture practice focused on creating energy balance in the body to live an overall happy, healthy, and fulfilling life. It goes beyond the traditional understanding of acupuncture as a means of addressing physical ailments. Instead, esoteric acupuncture aims to promote spiritual and energetic transformation, balancing the body, mind, and spirit.

What are Chakras?

In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” means “disk” or “wheel” and refers to the energy centres in your body. These wheels or disks of spinning energy each correspond to certain nerve bundles and major organs.

To function at their best, your chakras need to stay open, or balanced. If they get blocked, you may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra.

There are generally considered to be seven main chakras, aligned along the spine, starting from the base and ascending to the crown of the head. Each chakra is associated with specific qualities, emotions, colors, and aspects of spiritual and physical well-being. The seven chakras are:

  1. Root Chakra (Muladhara): Located at the base of the spine, it is associated with survival, stability, and grounding. Its color is red.

  2. Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana): Located in the lower abdomen, it is linked to creativity, sexuality, and emotions. Its color is orange.

  3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): Situated in the upper abdomen, it is associated with personal power, confidence, and digestion. Its color is yellow.

  4. Heart Chakra (Anahata): Located in the center of the chest, it is linked to love, compassion, and relationships. Its color is green.

  5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): Situated at the throat, it is associated with communication, self-expression, and truth. Its color is blue.

  6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna): Located between the eyebrows, it is linked to intuition, perception, and insight. Its color is indigo.

  7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): Situated at the top of the head, it is associated with spiritual connection, enlightenment, and higher consciousness. Its color is violet or white.

Chakras trace back their roots in Ayurvedic Medicine which is an ancient Hindu alternative medicine system. Ayurveda originated more than 3,000 years ago in India and is known to be the oldest holistic healing system in the world. It works on the principle that our mind, body, and soul need to be in balance and work in alignment with each other for our overall health and wellness.

Esoteric Acupuncture combines the principles of Ayurveda with Acupuncture. It is performed by placing needles in sacred geometric patterns on the body to open up the chakras and expand consciousness to strengthen the body, mind, and soul.

The Ideology Behind Esoteric Acupuncture

Each of us is born with limitless potential, however the stress of life can cause imbalances or blockage in our energy fields. These blocks hold us back from living our best lives, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Imbalanced energy blocks left unresolved often manifest themselves into a variety of physical and spiritual ailments like pain and stiffness, disease, or medical conditions impacting the organ or body part nearest to the affected energy center (Chakra).

This is why it is vital to our well-being to proactively make sure that our body’s energy centres are balanced and aligned with our consciousness. This forms the foundation behind Esoteric Acupuncture.

What are the differences between regular and esoteric acupuncture

  1. Needle Placement: Esoteric acupuncture involves specific needle placements on the body, often in geometric patterns or sacred geometries. These patterns are believed to correspond to energy centers, meridians, and higher spiritual dimensions.

  2. Incorporation of Spiritual Symbols: Practitioners of esoteric acupuncture may use spiritual symbols, such as mandalas or sacred geometry, during the treatment. These symbols are thought to have specific energetic and transformative qualities.

  3. Higher Spiritual Realms: Esoteric acupuncture incorporates the idea of connecting with higher spiritual realms and dimensions. The goal is to facilitate a deeper spiritual experience and promote personal growth and transformation.

  4. Integration of Western and Eastern Philosophies: This approach integrates elements from both Eastern acupuncture traditions and Western metaphysical and spiritual philosophies. It seeks to bridge the gap between the physical and metaphysical aspects of healing.

  5. Emphasis on Personal Transformation: Esoteric acupuncture is not solely focused on addressing physical symptoms. It places a strong emphasis on personal and spiritual transformation, aiming to enhance consciousness and promote a sense of well-being on multiple levels.

Prevention & Wellness

This is the biggest distinction between Esoteric Acupuncture and other types of Acupuncture. While other acupuncture practices are mostly for therapeutic and treatment purposes, Esoteric Acupuncture is more prevention and wellness oriented. This means that, unlike other practices, it aims to prevent the need for any treatment by taking care of the overall health and wellbeing of the body in advance. This is done by clearing the Chakras to keep them open, balanced, and energetically aligned.

“The power of acupuncture is to harmonize and strengthen the body systems before a disease stage, but the power of esoteric acupuncture is to work with consciousness and strengthen the center which consists of the various levels of your heart.” Dr. Mikio Sankey, Founder of Esoteric Acupuncture and Author of Esoteric Acupuncture: Gateway to Expanded Healing

Who is esoteric acupuncture for?

Esoteric Acupuncture is for anyone who wants to live a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life in alignment with their life’s purpose. In addition to spiritual awakening and enhancing the body’s energy fields, Esoteric Acupuncture is also used to help heal emotional and physical ailments. This is why it is often used as an alternative treatment alongside other treatment modalities. It helps to improve and fast-track the healing process.

It can also assist with anyone suffering from stress, anxiety, depression and mental health conditions.
