Chocolate Coconut Gummy Recipe

Since I’ve brought Gelatin in my life, I’ve seen massive improvements in my skin, hair, nails, joints and gut health. Gelatin provides a high dose of glycine & proline, two amino acids that are used in the production of collagen in our bodies. Apart from being super yummy and an awesome snack on the go, check out all the health benefits below.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of organic

  • 1 can coconut cream

  • 2 tablespoons of carbon or cacao

  • 1 tablespoon Medicinal Mushrooms of choice (I use Superfeast)

  • 100ml water

  • Sweetener to taste (monk fruit, stevia, honey – your choice)

  • Splash of Vanilla essence

Method: Bloom the gelatin in 1/4 cup of water for 15 minutes. Meanwhile add all other ingredients to saucepan and bring to semi-boil (until warm). Add the bloomed gelatin and stir until it is all dissolved. Pour in container or pan and set in fridge for a few hours.

Benefits of Gelatin ▪High in absorbable protein ▪Benefits gut health and digestion – preventing leaky gut ▪Supports healthy joints ▪Aids in skin, nail and hair health ▪Supports brain function

▪High in Glycine balances out high levels of methionine (from eating lots of meat and eggs – me).

Gelatin is made by cooking down the protein collagen found in the skin, connective tissues & bones of animals. It's rich in proteins that support skin, hair, nail and joint health. Gelatin also helps improve the lining of the digestive tract, preventing leaky gut. The gut lining is one of the body’s most important lines of defense, since it keeps the good stuff in your digestive system (& the bad stuff out) and prevents leakage into the bloodstream, which triggers inflammation. Gelatin is filled with glycine, an important amino acid. Consuming glycine is vital to balance out the high levels of methionine (another amino acid) from eating a lot of muscle meat and eggs. I eat a lot of red meat, raw dairy & eggs so I need to make sure I am consuming enough glycine to balance out the nutrients in my diet. Our ancestors tended to eat “nose-to-tail,” making liberal use of the skin &bones of the animals they ate, we tend to eat the meat & throw out the skin and bones. Glyphosate (weed killer) is sprayed all over our food. Glyphosate mimics glycine within the body. This synthetic compound has the ability to disrupt the functioning of the protein and cause genetic mutations. Glycine is important for our ability to naturally detox. Consuming plenty of glycine has been tied to better 𝐠𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞 production, which is one the of the most important liver-cleansing detoxifiers we have, helping clean our blood and detox harmful substances (like glyphosate) out of the body.Since I’ve brought Gelatin in my life, I’ve seen massive improvements in my skin, hair, nails, joints and gut health.
